Millerods Gamespin Heavy 722

Millerods Gamespin Heavy 722

Cast lures to tuna or poppers to trevally, troll for billfish, float baits for snapper and Spanish mackerel, down-rigging for kingfish, even jig the bait! No serious bluewater boat should be without such a rod and Ian Miller Gamespin rods represent the highest quality available!

Now updated and upgraded, this new version boasts the latest blank technology and components. The blank construction is from a blended graphite/'glass composite that provides a well-balanced high-performance tool that is also robust - these are heavily built rods.

The 7’2” length is capable of good casting distance and all-round application, yet not too long to become an issue in smaller boats. The ‘POWER TRIP’ design means the rod boasts a user-friendly tip action that’s easy to cast, while the lower half of the rod has plenty of fight in reserve once the rod loads and power is tripped!

The 2pc blank construction with removable handle means that transport and storage is extremely easy with a packed length of only 1.54m.

Cosmetically these rods look just as great as they perform. Black alloy and graphite parts are separated by gold anodized trims.

Starting at the butt end, a low-profile alloy gimbal fits seamlessly into a hard-wearing graphite rear grip. This not only looks great but gives smooth operation when moving the rod into and out of rod holders, even when under load of a fish.

The reel seat is a custom-made alloy seat, slightly longer than standard. Fitted with synthetic hood inserts to protect the reel feet, this avoids damage to your reel or electrolysis that can create corrosion. For fitting larger reels, an alloy extension means the locking hood can be completely disengaged from the reel seat thread before tightening.

Finishing off the handle is an x-hard EVA that’s custom shaped for fish fighting.

Ian’s guide train of choice for this rod is the Fuji ‘Slim Ring’ SiC ceramics in KW frame style for tangle-free operation. This gives smooth casting, excellent knot clearance and low line friction, using the latest grey metal stainless steel frame finish.

^Millerods recommends the use of the FG knot for connecting braided fishing lines to monofilament leaders. All Ian’s lure casting guide trains are selected with this connecting knot in mind.
