Millerods Pitch & Switch 682
The Pitch & Switch is a totally new and contemporary rod model. Designed primarily for deploying and positioning a hooked bait in front of a marlin it is also great to troll conventionally with a bait either live or rigged.
The blank is based on an advanced blended graphite construction. This creates a beautifully balanced rod that is light in the hand but still robust, the power being most suitable for 15kg and 24kg line classes.
At 6â8â the rod has an ideal combination of length for positioning a pitched bait while still being short enough to be user-friendly when fighting fish. The length also gives easier clearance of outboard motors when fished from smaller craft. The âPOWER TRIPâ blank design boasts a user-friendly tip action thatâs easy to load, while the lower half of the rod has plenty of fight in reserve once the rod loads and power is tripped!
The 2pc blank construction with removable handle means that transport and storage is extremely easy with a packed length of less than 1.4m.
The handle section is boat-friendly for a wide range of rod holders and the reel height is comfortable to fish with by a wide range of anglers.
Starting at the butt end, an alloy gimbal fitting locks the outfit in place when in a rod holder or gimbal belt. The rear grip is a hard-wearing âslick buttâ synthetic rear grip that guarantees smooth operation when moving the rod into and out of rod holders.
The Fuji reel seat carries the longer âLDâ locking hood for easier tightening of a game reel and an alloy extension makes it easier to fit a wide range of trolling reels.
The fore grip is a long x-hard EVA in blue Camoufish colour thatâs custom shaped for fish fighting, and all handle components are trimmed with gun metal coloured alloy separators and checks.
Ianâs guide train of choice for this rod is the Fuji âSlim Ringâ SiC ceramics in KW frame style for tangle-free operation. This gives smooth operation for both free-spooling and fighting, excellent knot clearance for all conventional knot types and low line friction via SiC ceramics, stainless steel frames are the latest shiny grey colour plating.
