Millerods BassFreaK Medium 601
Originally inspired by tournament casting rods for the 7gm spin-cast Accuracy category, Ian saw first-hand how accurately such rods can hit a target with a flat, direct casting technique. With bass fishing being very close to his heart, he knew immediately that the important precision characteristics of these tournament rods needed to be implemented into a proper fishing rod!
After extended testing on his home bass waters, the first models of this rod were released as the popular âBush Bassâr rod and this model subsequently became the lighter and more sensitive Control Freak BassFreak.
Designed in a no-nonsense 1pc format, this rod is light in the hand and super-sensitive for extra feed-back from the lure, and has great balance for long repetitive casting sessions.
The BassFreak M is ideal for all small bass lures, especially surface lures, soft plastics and hard-bodies. The medium action and specific tip power means the lure can be âpunch castâ flat and direct to a snag target, and even through a tiny gap in overhanging branches.
At only 6â0â length, the BassFreaK Medium is also short enough to make various creative casting strokes and get your lure âin, under, and aroundâ structure to deliver the lure to that all-important strike zone on the edge of the bank!
The multi-guide train of the latest Fuji Fazlite KR guides in sizes down to semi-micro runs true and easy, and further enhances the overall smoothness of this rod performance.
Ianâs trademark Control Freak style skeleton handle is super comfortable and also enhances the amazing sensitivity of this rod. The Fuji SKSS seat is set atop a blue carbon barrel, and custom-shaped x-firm EVA in the Millerods signature style blue Camoufish pattern, all finished with the âMâ logo anti-skid butt cap.
*Rod of choice for short range structure fishing with Cranka Crabs!
Millerods recommends the use of the FG knot for connecting braided fishing lines to monofilament leaders. All Ianâs lure casting guide trains are selected with this connecting knot in mind.
